I pictured Shakespearean characters reading each part. Love this

Would you rather take horse medicine or medicine no animal should take?

That was fun.

Inevitable double standards of bias yielding endless hypocrisy. If you could mine it, you'd make a fortune....and many skilled thinkers disguised as comedians do.

The entire riff is brilliantly funny take on reality and every point nails a bullseye. Thanks for adding some chuckles to the absurdity this farce; makes me happy just pasting my favorites! :~)

Off-patent drug: "Mechanism of action is unclear, so the results are probably fraud."

On-patent drug: "Mechanism of action is unclear, but that's true for so many other approved drugs. Isn't the human body wonderful?"

~

Off-patent trial: "The investigator has been implicated in some other bad trial at some point. Out of an abundance of caution, we have to ignore this one too. We can’t take chances. People’s lives are at stake!"

On-patent trial: "Look, yes, the manufacturer has paid the most in fines for fraud of any corporation in history, and funds the largest government lobbies the world has ever seen, but it’s not fair to hold that against this drug. People’s lives are at stake!"

~

Off-patent drug: "No respectable scientist advocates for it. By which we mean that if anyone advocates for it we will drag their name through the mud and try to get their medical license taken away. See? Not respectable anymore!”

On-patent drug: "If you don't advocate for it you're not respectable. Are you trying to kill people?"

~

With all these tricks up your sleeve, you may tear society to pieces, and you may destroy trust in the medical establishment for generations. But what matters is one thing and one thing only:

Your. Drug. Will. Get. Approved.

Have you ever reached out to Dr. Vinay Prasad in regards to Ivermectin? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tGqPSXh539c&feature=youtu.be if you listen from 7’ in he discusses IVM and at around 9:20 the Together trial. I think he is greatly misinformed as to the quality of the trial. He also seems like the type to engage with someone who presents him with evidence. He has a relatively large following on Twitter.

I'd love to sit down with him and walk him through these trials. I think he'd get it but I have a sense he may not want to go there.

It might be worth commenting on his Twitter account. He’s the type to read and respond to comments which are relevant and well researched

I have. I've even ratioed him a few times. He never responds.

I heard Prasad on an episode of ZDOGG MD after Damania dramatically--but ultimately only briefly--left Twitter. Was a little surprised at how much Vinay shit talked Twitter and his followers. His advice to ZDOGG was never ever reply to comments and don’t engage because people on Twitter suck. Considering how much he posts, for him, it must just be a vehicle to drive traffic to his Goggle-ad-filled videos.

There are all sorts of plants on Twitter. Insurance schills...deepstate spooks....and just garden variety trolls who have graduated to varsity. Its a tool for journalists but yeah...I can imagine it being counterproductive to try to engage with commenters as many aren't operating on good faith.

True, but there are plenty of real people. Why, some even contributed to this very post. Vinay could learn to distinguish troll from gem if so motivated, but engagement seems to be less of his thing than broadcasting. I'm grateful for what he does, especially his lovely use of bokeh and superior audio quality. But yeah, he really needs to talk with Alex.

I think he made a 'business decision' about Ivermectin awhile ago which honestly I can't begrudge him too much on. He's been good enough elsewhere.

This is genius, Alexandros. You’ve taken a page from the Steve Kirsch Book of Satire and turned it up a notch. Bravo!

Bad-Ass “Decoder Ring” for the sheep (including the credentialed ones) who are unable to see the intentionally-baked-in-bias and corruption of “published research.” 🙏🤘✊

Phenomenally on point. It should be printed by local activists and handed out in front of chain-pharmacies and hospitals.

Great article and thank you for taking the time to do the research. Your writing is excellent

Great job, very satisfying to read. What study were you mentioning that had “imperfect” grammar and typos? I do find these myself and have always wanted to reach out to the author to help. When English is a second language it’s easy for errors to occur, and that kind of scrutiny to a scientist is unfair.

It appears to be a common go-to for @gidmk, and Scott Alexander also makes some indications in that direction. I'd show you some of Gideon's claims but I'm blocked.

So how do you think a principle author would take it if I said that I was reviewing their document and found some grammatical errors worth editing?

Honestly, it probably depends on the author. Some may ignore you or get feisty, others may thank you and incorporate your feedback.
